Skimmed milk powder
A dried dairy ingredient that's fine for most people, but a known allergen and lactose source for some.
Skimmed milk powder is just milk with the water and fat removed. It's a normal food ingredient used for protein, texture and flavour. The only real risks are milk allergy and lactose intolerance, both of which affect specific people rather than the general population.

Why it matters
Skimmed milk powder is made by removing water and most of the fat from cow's milk, leaving milk proteins, lactose (milk sugar) and minerals like calcium. Food makers use it to add protein, body, and a milky taste to things like bread, chocolate, instant soups, and baked goods. In the body it digests like regular milk: proteins are broken down for nutrition, and lactose is split by the enzyme lactase into simpler sugars your gut absorbs. For most people this is just food - nutritious and unremarkable.
