Lemon
También conocido como: limone
Lemon is a fruit - safe to eat and generally beneficial, aside from acid and allergy quirks.
Lemon is a whole food used for juice, zest, and flavour. It's a source of vitamin C and plant compounds, with risk limited to its natural acidity (dental enamel, mouth/skin irritation for some) and rare citrus allergy.

Why it matters
Lemon is a citrus fruit, not a manufactured additive. In food it adds tart flavour, acidity, and aroma from its juice, pulp, and zest (the oily skin). The body treats it like any other fruit: it's digested for nutrients, mainly vitamin C, folate, potassium, and plant antioxidants called flavonoids. Almost everyone can eat lemon safely. It matters mainly for people with citrus allergy, mouth sores, acid reflux, or sensitive skin (from handling zest or juice).
