Product data and images

Product names, brands, ingredient lists, allergens, nutrition facts, Nutri-Score, NOVA, Eco-Score and additive lists come from the Open Food Facts family of databases, contributed by volunteers worldwide:

• Open Food Facts — food and drink
• Open Beauty Facts — cosmetics and personal care
• Open Products Facts — household and other products
• Open Pet Food Facts — pet food

Database contents © Open Food Facts contributors, made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0. Individual contents are licensed under the Database Contents License (DbCL). Product photos are © their contributors and are made available under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0. We display the data and images as received, with corrections from our community; we do not redistribute a derived copy of the databases, and contributions made on willithurt.me are shared back under the same licences.

For barcodes the Open *Facts databases do not know, basic name and brand information may come from UPCitemdb under its API terms. Such records are replaced by Open *Facts data as soon as it becomes available.

Ingredient and substance reference data

• EU CosIng — the European Commission's cosmetic ingredient database (INCI names, functions, restrictions under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009). © European Union, reused under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence per the Commission's reuse policy.
• Open Food Facts additives taxonomy — E-numbers, names and additive classes (ODbL, as above).
• PubChem — chemical identifiers (CAS numbers, synonyms) and GHS hazard classifications from the U.S. National Library of Medicine, public domain. Data citing ECHA is © European Chemicals Agency and reproduced under ECHA's legal notice.
• EFSA — scientific opinions and acceptable daily intakes from the European Food Safety Authority, reused under CC BY 4.0 in line with EFSA's open-access policy.
• EU regulation — Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 on food additives, Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 on cosmetic products, Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) and related texts, via EUR-Lex. © European Union; reuse authorised provided the source is acknowledged.

Our verdicts are our own

The verdict on each product and ingredient — Avoid, Caution, Fine, Good or Not enough evidence — together with the score, key points, explanations and summaries, is generated by an AI model from the sources above and is our own editorial content. It is not part of, endorsed by, or attributable to Open Food Facts, the European Commission, EFSA, ECHA, PubChem or any manufacturer.

Where an analysis cites a source, the citation points to the document we relied on; the interpretation is ours. AI-generated content can contain mistakes — see the Terms of service — and we welcome corrections through the "Report a problem" tool on every page.

Contributing back

Photos and label text added by the willithurt.me community are shared with the Open *Facts databases under ODbL / CC BY-SA so that they benefit everyone, not only our users.
